I turned on my Dell I bought from a  lady down the road.  It worked ok for a few weeks and then all of a sudden I got the BLUE SCREEN of DEATH. 

Error Code 2000-0146

Does anyone know what this error code stands for.  When I spoke to Dell Customer Service, they said that they cannot transfer the warranty over to me. "I'll never buy another Dell after that", and then the foreign man with an accent tried to sell me a software plan, 1 year for $169, 2 years for $239, and 3 years for $369.

Then on the internet, I am getting conflicting reports that it's a software issue to the hard-drive needs replacing.

Dell said it was a virus, but when I try to format the drive it reads 0 and cannot install anything on it.
